The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Scholarship Program for the promotion of foreigners is aimed at foreign students and doctoral candidates who have already successfully completed their studies in their home country and complete an additional study (graduate / master’s program), a PhD or at least a two semester research stay at a German university.
The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung awards scholarships to international master and postgraduate students to enable study and research at German universities. In this way, they actively promote intercultural dialogues, the formation of international networks and the internationalization of universities and science.
Currently, its academics come from 55 countries around the world. His subjects are various: law, science, music and medicine, to name a few.
The new focal countries or regions are determined each year in the selection procedures. In 2020, the focus regions will be Central Europe, Southeast Asia, the Near East and West Africa. Students living in countries not on the list cannot apply for the international selection procedure in 2020.
The duration and level of funding vary for different types of studies. Graduates (master or postgraduate students) receive a monthly scholarship of € 850. The standard financing period is two years. After gaining unconditional admission to doctoral studies at a German university, doctoral students receive a monthly grant of € 1,200. The standard funding period for PhD students is three years. Research stays in Germany are also funded for a minimum of three semesters. In addition, doctorates can apply for financial assistance for research stays abroad.
Fees resulting from university courses in Germany that are directly related to your studies can be reimbursed up to € 1,500 per semester. Upon request, health insurance, family allowance and child allowance can also be subsidized.
