Are you an innovator from Kenya and working on impactful environmental innovations and projects? If yes, then this KCDF Young Environmentalist Innovation Challenge 2025 is a great chance for you! The Kenya Community Development Foundation (KCDF) invites young changemakers to apply for the Young Environmentalist Innovation Challenge 2025 (YEIC). The Kenya Community Development Foundation was established in 1997. It is a public philanthropic foundation in Kenya that continues to invest in improving community-led initiatives to create a strong basis for sustainable development and social justice. Their vision is flourishing, and resilient communities, and their mission is to promote social justice and the sustainable development of communities.
This is the third edition of the KCDF Young Environmentalist Innovation Challenge 2025. YEIC is seeking creative solutions that foster a culture of sustainable management and environmental preservation. Young people and youth-led organisations/companies can use the challenge’s financing to expand creative solutions to environmental problems. The international program encourages young people to come up with innovative ideas that address issues including ecosystem restoration, renewable energy, climate resilience, sustainable agriculture, and circular economy solutions. You have the chance to increase your influence by taking on this challenge, regardless of whether you are an individual innovator or a member of a youth-led organization.
KCDF developed YEIC with the generous support of Mackenzie Scott, a philanthropist. The goal is to foster environmental leadership in communities and among youth. The KCDF Young Environmentalist Innovation Challenge program’s objective is “Scaling Innovations for Environmental Impact,” which means it looks for ideas that are successful and prepared to be shared with a wider audience. These developments, which have demonstrated success at the local level, could improve livelihoods, education, and environmental problems. This year, there are two categories of the KCDF YEIC fund: one is KES 1,500,000 for individual environmental champions, and the second is up to KES 5 million for youth-led organisations or companies with scalable, impactful environmental solutions.
