Internship Opportunity at the Centre for East European and International Studies (ZOiS)

The Centre for East European and International Studies (ZOiS) is currently searching for interns (full-time or part-time) from March/April or by September/October each calendar year, for a span of 3 to six weeks.


The function will incorporate work on research projects in addition to the option to donate to the communications section. The organisation’s external communication concentrates on the public picture of ZOiS as well as the dissemination of study findings to the general public. The most significant medium is that our site, along with the social networking stations on Twitter and Facebook.


Additionally, the communication section asserts the books ZOiS Spotlight, ZOiS Report, Meet the Writer, Work-in-Progress. This specifically contains editorial revision and interpretation of texts, interviews with authors of new research publications, and study of graphics and background details. The communications group also organises all ZOiS events, such as seminars, workshops, media meetings, and lectures, and also is in charge of media relations.

    Eligibility Criteria :

    The activities of the intern, depending upon the field of action, will be:

    ► Assist in study projects: literature study, information analysis, visualisation and presentation of information and research findings, and aid in conceiving new jobs

    ► Background research for job – and event-related books or cooperation by ZOiS employees or for media asks

    ► Assisting the communications department: qualitative assistance for ZOiS books, social media and online editing, translations of texts to the site, assistance from the organisation of events, direction of their contact database

    Microsoft Office skills and very good knowledge of English and German are necessary. We mostly encourage applications from students who wish to complete a qualification internship at the frame of the research.
