International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Traineeship in Geneva, Switzerland -2019

Job/Internship Description :

• Assistance to Editor-in-Chief and Managing Editor of the International Review of the Red Cross;
• Evaluation and substantive enhancing of article submissions (checking authorized reasoning, arguments, construction and sources);
• Substantial tutorial analysis;
• Identification of potential authors and peer reviewers;
• Preparation and co-conduct of interviews of key consultants in the fields of humanitarian regulation, coverage and motion for publication;
• Management of e-book evaluations in collaboration with the Review‘s Book Review Editor;
• Management of the unsolicited submissions despatched to the Review;
• Coordination with the tutorial intern(s);
• Authorship of promotional texts (for instance, weblog articles or publication entries) for the journal;
• Engagement with authors, peer reviewers and the writer in a diplomatic and politically astute method, as an envoy of the journal and the ICRC;
• Correspondence with each exterior and inner counterparts in figuring out potential matters to be coated in the Review, together with (however not restricted to) ICRC delegations, colleagues throughout varied items and departments from HQ, nationwide societies, beneficiaries and professionals outdoors the ICRC;
• Ad hoc displays on IHL to teams visiting the ICRC.
