Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme 2020-21(Fully Funded) (1)

Applicants are invited to apply for the Hong Kong Doctoral Fellowship Program 2020-21. Students who have obtained a bachelor’s degree (16 years of education) can also apply (direct Ph.D.). Both MPhil and Bachelor holders can apply for this scholarship.

BS graduates will enroll in a 4-year program, however, MPhil graduates will enroll in a 3-year program. BS title holders who apply for this doctorate are strongly recommended.

All academic fields are available for Hong Kong PhD scholarships for international students. They are offering all fields of science, medicine, engineering and technology, humanities, social sciences and business studies. Remember that all Hong Kong universities are in the Top 100 in the world in almost all rankings.

    Benefits :

    • An annual stipend of HK $ 309,600 (approximately US $ 39,700)
    • A travel allowance related to the conference and research of HK $ 12,900 (approximately US $ 1,700) per year for each winner for a period of up to three years.
      For candidates who need more than three years to complete the Ph.D. degree, the chosen universities can provide additional support. For more details, contact the interested universities directly.

    How to Apply

    Eligible candidates must first make an initial application online through Ph.D. From Hong Kong. Electronic System of the Scholarship System (HKPFSES) to obtain an HKPFS reference number before December 2, 2019, at 12:00:00 Hong Kong time before submitting doctoral applications. Admission to your desired universities.

    Applicants can choose up to two programs/departments at one or two universities to obtain a Ph.D. study under HKPFS 2020/21. They must meet the admission requirements of their selected universities and programs.

    As the deadlines for applications to some of the universities can immediately follow that of the initial application, candidates must submit initial applications as soon as possible to ensure they have sufficient time to send applications to universities.

    Open for applications: 1 September 2019 at 12:00 noon Hong Kong Time

    Step 2: Submit Full Applications to Proposed Universities

    After completing an initial application, applicants should submit full applications for their selected Ph.D. programs to the proposed universities quoting their HKPFS Reference Number before the universities’ respective deadlines. As regards program information, requirements for Ph.D. admission, application methods, regulations and policy of individual universities, please refer to individual universities and Ph.D. programs for information.
