The Center for Genomic Regulation (CRG) launches the eighth summer internship program to provide undergraduate and master’s students the opportunity to conduct summer research at the CRG. The objective of the program is to encourage students, of any nationality, in the search for a scientific career and to present them with an international laboratory experience.

    Eligibility Criteria :

    Eligibility criteria for university students:

    • University students with an excellent academic record and a great interest in biosciences and biomedical research (previous laboratory experience is strongly recommended) who are in their last two years of studies in Life Sciences or related subjects (for example, Bioinformatics , Biomedicine, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Chemistry)
    • Two full years (4 semesters) of university courses completed by the time the internship begins.
    • Candidates may not have received a university degree at the time of the internship (Summer 2020).
    • Candidates may not have previously obtained a “CRG Summer Internship”.
    • High level of English.
    • You have the availability to make a student Placement/internship agreement through your university.

    Eligibility criteria student Masters:

    • Master’s students with an excellent academic record and a great interest in biosciences and biomedical research (previous laboratory experience is recommended) who are currently enrolled in a master’s degree at an accredited university and after the summer internship.
    • Candidates may not have previously obtained a “CRG Summer Practice”
    • High level of English.
    • You have the availability to make a student internship / internship agreement through your university.
    • Candidates may not have been in the CRG before the internship begins.
    • Positions will be awarded competitively taking into account the student’s academic records and the motivation letter (s). Each student will be paired with a specific laboratory based on the student’s interest and background.

    Benefits :

    All CRG internship candidates will get following benefits

    • All selected candidates: € 400 / month
    • If the candidate is not from Barcelona: 1 return ticket to the student’s place of residence (European ticket up to € 300 / abroad up to € 800)
    • Food vouchers (lunch/weekdays) for 2 months.
    • Interns must provide their own health and accident insurance if it is not provided by the University

    Application Process:

    Applications for the CRG Summer Internship Program are accepted exclusively online through our online application system. Candidates must prepare their application online in English.

    The application will include the following information:

    • The registration form duly completed.
    • Your most recent academic record, which should include the title of the courses you have completed so far and the qualifications you received.
    • Description of his interest in life science research, what he hopes to obtain through his participation in the CRG Summer
    • Internship Program, his vision of what the summer internship will benefit him personally and academically, and Reasons behind your choice.
    • Candidates will be asked to provide contact details for at least one arbitrator. Then, the online system will send an email to the arbitrator with the steps to follow to be able to load the reference letter in their registration form.
    • You will not be able to submit the form if all the required documentation is not included.
    • Candidates are encouraged to verify information (http://www.crg.eu/content/research/faculty-members) about the laboratory and the Group Leader before selecting one on the form.
    • All information must be submitted before the application deadline. Applications received after March 9, 2020 will not be considered.
