The program is open to undergraduate students who are enrolled in Biomedicine-related or Life Sciences degrees. Students must be in their final year to be eligible for this program. International students who are interested in pursuing their research career should apply for this summer training program. The CNIO summer student program offers equal access to all students without any discrimination. Students of all genders, economic situations, disability, races, languages, and nationalities can apply.

The mission of CNIO is to create innovative and effective ways to prevent, diagnose, and treat cancer. The Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Oncológicas offers this excellent summer training programme for undergraduate students. CNIO is a Spanish National Cancer Research Centre in Madrid, Spain. The Spain CNIO Summer Training Program will select 6 candidates for this summer research program. The research areas offered during this summer program for international students will include Structural Biology, Molecular Oncology, Experimental Therapeutics, Human Cancer Genetics, Biotechnology, Clinical Research, and Biobank. The program does not require IELTS. Moreover, there is no application fee for this European training program.

The duration of the CNIO training program for undergraduate students is 8 weeks. Students will get a chance to spend their summers from 29th June to 21st August 2026 at the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre. The international training programme will consist of 300 working hours. The intensive nature of the CNIO Summer Training Program 2026 in Spain requires a full-time commitment from the participant. Students will be required to participate in all activities.

During this training program, students will work under the supervision of a research group leader and attend weekly seminars delivered by CNIO faculty members and researchers. At the end of the program, students will present the results of their research projects in a special session organized by the centre. It is a funded summer research program. The international training program will cover travel expenses from the home country to Spain, meals (breakfasts and lunches), personal accident insurance, and private health insurance.
