Eligibility Criteria for British Academy Mid-Career Fellowship 2026:

Applicants must be employed by a UK-based university, higher education institution, or an independent research organization to be eligible for this BA fellowship.

These fellowships in UK will primarily support researchers at the mid-career stage.

Similarly, age or current status is not used to determine eligibility.

Candidates should have a proven track record of excellence in their field and demonstrate strong communication skills and leadership within their academic discipline.

Benefits of British Academy Mid-Career Fellowships:

These Mid-Career Fellowships are paid fellowships. Hence, fellows do not have to worry about financial constraints.

Fellowships receive funding under the Full Economic Costing (FEC) model.

The British Academy will fund 80% of the total FEC amount.

Moreover, the maximum salary contribution for a Mid-Career Fellow is £80,000.

The overall award is not expected to exceed £152,000 (based on the 80% contribution).

The research costs element is capped at £8,000 (at 80% FEC).

Fellowship duration can range from a minimum of 6 months to a maximum of 12 months.
