Applications are open for the Armament and Disarmament Summer School 2025 in Sweden. The international summer school is open for students, researchers, and young professionals. The training program in Europe aims to deepen the understanding of arms control, non-proliferation, and global security in young professionals or researchers. The Alva Myrdal Centre for Nuclear Disarmament (AMC) and the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) at Uppsala University have launched this summer school in Europe.
The duration of the 2025 Armament and Disarmament Summer School is five days, and it will be held on 25–29 August 2025. The summer program in Europe will be held in cooperation with the Odesa Center for Non-proliferation (OdCNP). This European summer school will equip participants with skills, critical knowledge, and networks to contribute their knowledge to disarmament efforts globally. The international training program features skill-building workshops, in-person lectures, seminars, training workshops, interactive discussions, expert-led lectures, and site visits to different institutions and organizations working on arms control and disarmament. The Armament and Disarmament summer program is designed to empower the next generation of policymakers, peace researchers, and practitioners.
Through this Armament and Disarmament Summer School 2025 in Europe, participants will engage with top experts in international security, fostering their professional development and contributing their efforts to global peace. The 2025 Armament and Disarmament Summer School is a fully funded summer school. The program will cover travel (airfare or train), travel insurance, local transportation, visa costs, accommodation, and meals. The international summer program will select 25 highly motivated students from different organizations, think tanks, institutes, and universities. Students who have completed their bachelor’s degree and are currently enrolled in or have recently graduated from a university are eligible to apply!
