American Arts Incubator International Exchange Program 2018

 

ZERO1 is invitations progressive digital and new media artists with a love of journey and ardour for community-driven public artwork to use to take part in American Arts Incubator. American Arts Incubator (AAI) is a global artistic exchange program that makes use of community-driven digital and new media artwork tasks to instigate dialogue, construct communities, bolster native economies, and additional social innovation. The program is developed in partnership with the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) and administered by ZERO1.

AAI is a hybrid coaching lab, manufacturing workshop, and power for public engagement. At its core, AAI is a cross-cultural exchange of concepts that showcases artists as engaged and progressive companions in addressing social and environmental challenges.

 

Selected U.S. artists workforce up with youth, ladies, individuals with disabilities, and underserved populations by means of country-based partnerships to encourage community engagement by means of artwork applications. AAI awards small grants to native participant groups to develop public tasks addressing a social or environmental problem related to their neighbourhood. In doing so, AAI exchanges seed alternatives for ongoing, community-driven innovation by translating artistic practices into tasks and programming that may be sustained long after the U.S. artist leaves the abroad location.

Program length is June 1, 2018 – August 31, 2019.

Benefits

  • The Artist will obtain a USD $7,000 honorarium for participation, plus an assigned price range for the workshop and public artwork manufacturing prices abroad.

Eligibility

Open to rising, mid-career or established new media and/or digital artists

  • U.S. residents not less than 18 years of age
  • Strong file of creative accomplishments
  • Proof of adaptability and capability to work in worldwide contexts
  • Relevant expertise working with youth and/or underserved communities
  • Record of partaking with artists, youth, neighbourhood organizations, and/or neighbourhood members by means of instructing, workshops, social follow, creative collaboration, or different outreach actions

Selection Criteria

  • They are in search of artistic, adaptable, and culturally-sensitive digital and new media artists with expertise in socially-engaged artwork, group facilitation, various collaborative environments, and challenge administration.
  • Artists should display how they’ve used their artwork follow to handle social or environmental challenges, and the way they’ve facilitated teams to work in the direction of collective objectives.
  • Applicants ought to be confirmed self-starters who can work independently, reply to time-sensitive digital communications, meet deadlines, incubate new concepts, obtain suggestions, and help abroad individuals to develop their abilities and apply them to the creation of tasks that interact native communities.
