1st OIC Robotics Challenge in Uzbekistan

COMSTECH in partnership with the General Secretariat of the Organization for Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) is organizing the first OIC Robotics Challenge (ORC) in Tashkent, Uzbekistan within the framework of INNOWEEK of the Government of Uzbekistan.

The ORC is part of the OIC’s efforts to foster the creative and technical skills of young people in cutting-edge technologies. To encourage maximum participation, the organizers will provide the selected teams with partial trips and full support for accommodation and accommodation.

The ORC is held at the UZEXPOCENTRE exhibition center, Tashkent, from October 27 to 31, 2019 and is restricted to participants from the OIC member states between the ages of 17 and 23, in two categories.

Competition Categories

The ORC will consist of the following contests / categories:

Robo-Sumo (where an autonomous robot must push another robot out of the ring)
Robo-Football (controlled distance, two robots play soccer in the field)

    Eligibility Criteria :


    • A team must consist of no more than three participating members.
    • In addition to the participating members, each team may be accompanied by a senior person as Team Manager / Mentor. In that case, the Team Manager would need to support their own trip.
    • A team must register all team members (and the Administrator, if applicable) on the online registration form. Any team without full registration will not be considered to participate.
    • The age limit is 17 to 23 years.
    • Teams selected to participate by the ORC Jury will receive an email notification.
    • Detailed rules and regulations of each category can be downloaded from here.
    • When registering, teams must identify in which category of the competition they wish to participate. A team can participate in both categories if they wish.
      All teams must plan to arrive in Tashkent before October 27, 2019.
      Attractive cash prizes will be awarded to the 3 best teams in each category.
      Participants would have the opportunity to take a guided tour of some of the exciting INNOWEEK activities that are carried out simultaneously

    Application Process:

    • A team must register all team members (and the Manager, if applicable) on the online Registration form. Any team without full registration will not be considered to participate. Apply online through the link given.
    • Participants must be in this age group of the challenge: 17-23 (included)
    • Participants must be able to bring their own robots for contests, except those found at the base of local builders.
    • Participants must be able to build their robot on their own, that is, they must have a base of basic construction and programming skills.
    • A team must consist of no more than three participating members.
